Summer Rituals: While painting these scenes, I try to capture the figures and subjects accurately, but my favorite part is playing with my abstract impression of them. I want my brush strokes, marks and colors to be just as reflective of the lifestyle we love so much up here as the scene itself. Laid back, playful, creative, nostalgic… I want my marks to somehow communicate “on the weekends we wake up slow, let the dog run on the beach, and maybe jump in the lake too.” I hope you find a piece symbolic of one of your favorite summer rituals.

Medium: Acrylic, gouache, graphite and wax pastel on premium, cotton watercolor paper.

Details: Each piece has been sprayed with a fixative. They are 11x14” with a half inch white border with hand deckled edges, allowing for title and artist signature.

Frame: This piece has been professionally framed in a 16x20 slim white wooden frame. It has been floated over an off-white mat to showcase the hand deckled edges and is set behind UV protected glass.
